Comparing Plone and Drupal: need input
This subject has been all the rage lately so I thought I would chime in. I have some experience building sites with both of these systems, so an article or two or nine could be useful to others. What subjects are you interested in hearing about? Leave comments and I'll try to address them in my upcoming series.
I'm far from an expert on either system, but I think that's what will help make these write ups unique. Here's a rough outline of what I have planned to cover in the comparison:
- Installation and upgrade
- Supporting technology
- Default core features
- Advanced features and configuration
- Perceived strengths and weaknesses
- User community and add-ons
- Theming and settings
- Add-on development
- Future direction

Good luck! I'm eager to read your findings.

I think you should include a good use-case for what you want to do. This is the real deciding factor when looking at these two products. Both are powerful tools, but both have strengths and weaknesses. Depending on what you want to do and who/what resources are going to help you, the product that will fit you needs is going to vary.
For example if you are not going to host the site yourself, then Drupal gets a big leg up because there are a ton more hosting services for it compared to Plone.
